Anna Ross-Davies is an International Grand Prix dressage rider and freelance trainer. She has represented Great Britain at Grand Prix all over the world including, amongst many others, at the European Championships, the Aachen CDIO, the Saumur CDIO, on the World Cup Circuit, and has twice competed at the World Championships for Young Horses
In 2007 Anna was the highest placed British Team rider at the European Championships, helping team GB secure qualification for the Beijing Olympics. In 2008 she won several international Grand Prixs and was the non-travelling reserve for Beijing. In 2009, with Pegasus MK, she was the highest placed British rider in the Small Tour Final of the Sunshine Tour. In 2010 she rode Pegasus on the British Team in the Nations Cup in the Saumur CDIO, and on the World Cup tour and following the qualifier at London Olympia , they were ranked 12th in the Western European League World Cup rankings. In 2011 Pegasus MK and Anna were 4th in the Grand Prix at Manhiem in Germany and placed at the World Cup qualifier in Lipica.
Anna trained for five years with the German Olympic Champion, Ulla Salzgeber, and was based in Germany representing team GB at international Grand Prix.
In 2007 Anna received the British Equestrian Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dressage, and was presented with the Davison Award at Olympia. In 2008 she was the British Dressage Personality of the Year. She has twice presented the Masterclass at the National Dressage Championships.
Anna trains horses and riders from Prelim level to Grand Prix dressage, Pony , Junior and Young rider to championship team level, helps event riders to 4 star and enjoys teaching a wide and successful client base. She compiles music for dressage, writes articles about dressage training and competition, and has been regularly published in Horse and Hound and British Dressage Magazine. She currently has a monthly column in Horse magazine, which chronicles her daily life with her horses.
Anna is based at the beautiful Cholderton Equestrian Centre in Wiltshire where she runs a training yard. She takes horses and riders for short and long term training and has many riders staying with their horses for short courses. See Facilities for more details.
She is supported by the lottery funded World Class Programme, Belstane Marketing, Pikeur and Eskadron, Samshield Hats, Kieffer Saddles, Dodson and Horrell feeds, Martin Wilkinson Saddlers and Kevin Bacon hoof products, as well as her many long term owners who are a vital and much valued part of the team. She works closely with the Southern Cross Stud producing their team of dressage horses and overseeing the young stock in the UK and Germany.
